Continuing our light-hearted and (some may say) irreverent look at some of the offbeat things that caught our eye on our travels during Cebit 2006. If you missed it, you can catch up on part one here.

First on the agenda is case finishes. These can be filed under “I’ll eat my hat if this catches on!” They are made by “Ego” whose company slogan is “It’s all about the inside” which is odd given that the company make clip-on case covers.

These cases made by G-Alantic are pretty standard fare but the camouflage and polished wood finishes caught our eye as being well executed, particularly the high gloss wood effect. In fact the only thing wrong with the cases is the name - 'Zooty'!

This water-cooled “Bat Case”, on the Point of View booth, created by Dutch modder Ed Buijs caught our attention.

This thing is huge and not too practical for LAN events we suspect, but interesting nonetheless.
