From January, Zepto will be able to offer their customers an industry leading wireless technology featuring 450 Mbit transfer rate.

Danish Zepto is well known for promoting the latest notebook technologies and is now preparing to push the wireless technology up to 450 – 600 Mbit, which should become the worlds fastest wireless network for notebooks.

”We are working on a new layer technology on our own wireless cards, where we can push the N standard up to 450 Mbit’s, a technology which should be ready by January 2008. However, we already see today that our own 300 Mbit card has far better performance than competitors like the Intel 4965AGN. We can boast almost 90-100 Mbit from the card in actual performance, when all channels are in use, were Intel’s card will never climb above 40 Mbit’s.”

Zepto informs that the 450 Mbit card works in the same 3x3 MIMO parameters as the current 300 Mbit solution Zepto’s own card offers. The 600 Mbit card to follow will offer a Dual N solution transmitting on both the GN layer and a AN layer.

”We expect a lot from the 450 Mbit card already, and actual transfer rates of a 110-125 Mbit’s is realistic even up to 25 feet or so. Moving towards dual N 600 Mbit solution, the actual rates will push well up to 200 Mbit’s as we are on the less populated A-band. At greater ranges of 25 feet or so we would expect roughly 150 Mbit.”
