Acer Aspire easyStore H340

A stylish archive for your digital data

London, 4th February 2010 - Acer offers the latest edition of the award
winning Aspire easyStore H340 - a home server where you can store and
organize your photos, music, videos, and personal files.

The number - and size - of the photos, videos, music and all the files saved
in your computer keeps increasing day after day. So you end up with multiple
volumes of CDs, DVDs, memory cards and it gets difficult to keep track of
where everything is, let alone share the files. This is what the new Aspire
easyStore H340 will do for you: store, organize and protect your entire
digital media library on the same device, where it can be enjoyed and shared
by your family and friends. And what's more, with the new Aspire easyStore
H340 you can stream digital media content to multiple applications or DLNA
compliant devices, such as console games, making it possible to share games
on the server.

Clothed in a brand-new stylish design, the Aspire easyStore is very compact,
but can still house up to four hot-swappable hard disks drives for a maximum
capacity of 6TB, leaving you plenty of room to expand your digital library.
And they are easy to add, too. You just have to insert the disk in the slot
and follow the simple setup to boost the storage capacity of the Aspire
easyStore H340.

But there's more the Aspire easy can do for you. Aspire easyStore can
automatically back-up the data of all the computers in your house, letting
you decide how often and when, so you don't have to worry about hard disk
crashes or human errors. And for those all-important files like your wedding
video or the pictures of your last holiday, shared folders on the Aspire
easyStore H340 can be automatically duplicated to another drive, either
internal or external, virtually eliminating any chance of losing your data.

Driven by the ultra-small Intel® Atom(tm) Processor 230, based on low power
Intel Atom micro-architecture, the Aspire easyStore provides quality
performance while keeping power consumption to a minimum. And, to further
reduce energy consumption, standby and resume schedules can be set by the
user.

Pictures, video or data files can be easily uploaded to the Aspire easyStore
directly from the device. Just connect the device through the USB port and
press the Copy button. Data is automatically sorted and stored by file type
into folders of your choice.

You can now access your Aspire easyStore H340 even when you are away from
home. There are two options for you to remotely access your server. You can
set up a secure personal web address on the Windows Home Server website and
access it through the Internet. Or, you can enable remote access and add
user accounts via the WHS console. The result is that you can connect to
your server anytime, anywhere and upload or download files, connect to your
home computer and manage the server.

Aspire easyStore comes preinstalled with Microsoft Windows Home Server
operating system. Additional software includes:

* Lights Out, power management add-in software that allows you to save
energy by scheduling standby and resume times for the Aspire easyStore H340.
* McAfee Total Protection, a comprehensive security management
solution that checks for viruses, spyware, unwanted programs and other
potential threats.

The Aspire easyStore H340 is available now in three configurations with an
RRP that ranges from £329.99 - £429.99 inc Vat.
