Multi-functional with PoE Support, 18x Optical Zoom, Microphone and Day and Night Sensors. Provides Exceptional Monitoring
Even In Low Light Levels

LONDON, UK - 14 April 2009 - Designed for professional surveillance, the DCS-3415 provides powerful and versatile security solutions for businesses and public sector organisations of any size requiring local or remote monitoring. Features include Day & Night viewing, Megapixel sensors, high power zoom and Power over Ethernet (PoE) support.

The DCS-3415 Day & Night Camera is equipped with an 18x Optical Zoom lens and progressive scan CCD sensor which captures vivid images of moving objects, even in poorly lit environments (colour up to 0.38 LUX). The camera drastically reduces motion blur, distortion, and jagged edges of recorded images to deliver exceptional picture quality.

The new D-Link DCS network camera includes 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) to receive both power and data over a single Ethernet cable, allowing the camera to be placed in a wide range of locations including those without power outlets. The surveillance camera supports simultaneous streaming of MPEG-4 and MJPEG video to provide both high quality and bandwidth efficient compression formats. MJPEG delivers greater file integrity, making it ideal for detailed monitoring situations. Whereas the MPEG-4 video produces smaller file sizes, offering a useful solution for extended recording periods or for use in low bandwidth networks.

All D-Link cameras in the DCS range offer 3GPP Mobile Surveillance, allowing the user to view a live video feed from a compatible Internet-ready mobile phone with a 3GPP player installed. This feature extends monitoring capability without requiring the use of a computer, allowing the user to check the camera's video feed anywhere they choose.

For alternative management, the entire DCS network camera series includes D-Link D-ViewCam™ 2.0 software enabling the user set e-mail alert notifications, recording schedules, and trigger motion detection to record directly to a hard drive.

"D-Link’s new professional DCS network camera provides premiere digital surveillance solutions for small, medium and large businesses requiring professional, state-of-the-art security monitoring. The camera signals our UK re-entry into this highly competitive market," said Chris Davies, General Manager, D-Link UK & Ireland. "No matter what the lighting environment, this camera provides outstanding picture quality in all levels of light, even dimly lit areas. It offers many user-friendly features, flexible connectivity and convenient remote monitoring capabilities.”

The DCS-3415 includes digital input and output ports offering flexible connectivity to external devices such as IR sensors, switches and alarm relays. Equipped with an RS-485 interface, it provides connectivity to optional Pan/Tilt enclosures that effectively adds pan/tilt functionality. The camera also includes a 12V interface for powering optional LED illuminators.

The camera comes with a built-in microphone and audio port allowing 2-way audio communication when an external speaker is connected and also includes audio switches to ensure privacy when needed. It features a built-in Samba client for network attached storage (NAS), such as the D-Link DNS-313, DNS 323 and DNS-343. So there is no need for a direct connection to a PC, hardware or software to capture and transfer video or images.

To further simplify the management process, the D-ViewCam 2.0 software also lets the user upload a business floor plan and create a realistic layout of where cameras are located. The camera is also standards-based which allows it to be managed by third-party software applications.

The DCS-60 camera enclosure is available now for outdoors installation of the camera. The enclosure is IP44 certified for water resistance and dust-proof operation. It also includes a heater and blower for a wider range of temperature-sensitive environments and the built-in power supply simplifies the installation procedure.
