Collaboration with ICEcat ensures Kingston partners utilise real-time
and accurate product information
Sunbury-on-Thames – November 22, 2010 -- Kingston Technology Europe Ltd, a subsidiary of Kingston Technology Company, the independent world leader in memory products, today announced the collaboration with ICEcat, a free open catalogue service which distributes product content to 12.000+ channel partners worldwide. ICEcat is a well adopted site that provides registered partners access to vendor’s product datasheets, images and specifications free of charge.

“We are constantly seeking new ways to streamline tools and increase productivity for our partners. Timely and accurate digital assets are an essential element of providing consistent support to our channel partners so they in turn can offer a superior service to their customers”, says Gill Taylor, EMEA Channel Marketing Manager, Kingston Technology. “Following a survey and a successful trial in the Netherlands we are happy to partner with ICEcat and are confident that they will help us achieve those objectives.”

Kingston Technology’s decision to partner with ICEcat further reinforces their commitment to support the channel. Unlike other online product information services, Open ICEcat is exclusively funded by vendors and therefore a FREE service to resellers. ICEcat specifically offers more than 1,000,000 vendor-approved product data-sheets available in XML or URL format, ideal when used for websites and ERP systems.

“Product details and specs change on a daily basis these days”, says Erik Snijders, Sales Director, ICEcat NV “Maintaining an accurate product website can be a full time job but thanks to Open ICEcat it can become an easy and automated process. We are glad that Kingston is on board.”

“As a long lasting Kingston partner we are glad to see Kingston’s corporation with ICEcat”, says Tom Felici, Director Lambdatek UK. “Their partnership will ensure that we don’t have to worry about the accuracy of the product information we use and can confidently use the data across our sales tools and website.”

The move sees ICEcat providing Kingston product content in local language across seven European countries: Poland, Spain, France, UK, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, with the option to further expand in the future. Please contact your Kingston Technology account manager for further details.
