Taipei, Taiwan----November 9, 2007----CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a leader in digital home solutions, announced today that CyberLink’s line of Digital Home applications will be shipped with NEC computers to deliver a ubiquitous digital home platform, allowing users to enjoy digital media anytime, anywhere.

“We are very excited to partner with NEC Computers to realize the ubiquitous digital home,” said Alice H. Chang, “NEC’s POWERMATE X series and their line of outstanding personal computers and notebooks combined with CyberLink Digital Home applications deliver the most user-friendly solution not only allowing access digital media from any PC in a DLNA compliant home network, but also accessing media content from outside the home via the Internet.”

CyberLink’s ubiquituous Digital Home Solution consists of the MediaServer, SoftDMA and CyberLink Live. MediaServer and SoftDMA place-shift users’ media content from their home servers to other devices in the home network allowing users to enjoy media content anywhere at home. CyberLink Live compliments media access at home to allow users enjoy their TV, videos, photos, videos and music even if they are away from home.

Entertainment anywhere at home
CyberLink Digital Home Solution for the home consists of MediaServer, which opens access to the media files installed in the computer. Together with NEC POWERMATE X series, the combination turns into a powerful infotainment media hub for the home.

To access these media from another PC, users will need to use SoftDMA – a software-based media access application. SoftDMA are pre-installed in all the current and future range of NEC consumer notebook, desktop and the newly launched hybrid PCs NEC POWERMATE P – hence allowing users to access videos, photos, music, movies, TV from the MediaServer or any DLNA compliant server. Likewise, Mediaserver supports any DLNA computers or consumer devices.

Entertainment anywhere outside the home

While the MediaServer yields media access within the home network, CyberLink Live software serves to allow access from outside the home via the Internet. By installing the CyberLink Live software in NEC POWERMATE X, users will be able to access TV, videos, photos, music, download document and capture videos from webcams simply by logging into the CyberLink Live website.

CyberLink Live also allows users to share their videos and photos with friends and family members with highly secured access links to their home servers. This provides a quick and alternative way to sharing without having to upload large file sizes of volume.
