AMD has launched a new Rewards program that centres around its AMD Gaming Evolved app and will offer up real world prizes in exchange for points earned through the app.

Launching today the scheme will award points through the Gaming Evolved app for users playing their favourite games, optimising settings for those games and engaging with the Gaming Evolved community.

These points can be redeemed for prizes such as Sapphire Radeon R9 series graphics cards, free games, Astro Gaming headsets, GameFly subscriptions, Gunnar gaming eyeware, discounts and more.

Gaming Evolved is powered by Raptr, a cross-platform gaming social network that incorporates communication and game optimisation tools for PC gamers.

Raptr has an existing rewards program and the AMD scheme is an extension of that so it's not yet clear whether there's a distinct advantage of going the AMD-branded route. We're waiting on word from AMD to clarify this.

“We are thankful for the millions of gamers that support the AMD Radeon brand by using the AMD Gaming Evolved application Powered by Raptr,” said Darren McPhee, director, Graphics Marketing, AMD. “The AMD Rewards program is our way of thanking our loyal customers and giving back to the community that has given so much to us.”
