Gigabyte has announced that it will be bundling EKWB water blocks with some of its current motherboards.

Two motherboards have been selected for the treatment and they include models from both the Z170 and X99 ranges. The models are the X99-Ultra Gaming and Z170X-Gaming 7.

Partnering with EK Water Blocks (EKWB), the motherboards, which will be sold as limited editions, will be bundled with compatible water blocks, although you get a different cooling solution with each board.

The Z170X-Gaming 7 (see our review here) limited edition or Z170X-Gaming 7-EK will include the EK-FB GA Z170X Monoblock, which is specifically designed for this motherboard.

This single-piece water block cools the CPU and VRMs but has a single inlet and outlet for easier water-cooling. Both ports use G¼in threads so are compatible with most fittings out there.

The X99-Ultra Gaming will be renamed X99-Ultra Gaming-EK, and will include EK's EK-Supremacy EVO X99 CPU water block, which cools the CPU only but has a custom Gigabyte G1 engraving.

According to EK, the water block was developed by EK Water Blocks specifically for Intel X99 Chipsets on the LGA2011-v3 platform.

The promotions began on August 1 and will be held throughout Europe. You can see more information on the respective product web pages: Z170X-Gaming 7-EK and X99-Ultra Gaming-EK.
