Brit boys go VoIP

A new UK outfit called Band Telecom is launching a service so that UK small businesses can get awesome phone systems for mere pounds.

Rather than wiring in complex desk-based systems, the company installs all the phone systems in their facilities in London Docklands, then hooks up the company's offices using simply VoIP phones that connect over ethernet.

The use of internet-based telephony means that contacts can be dialled with a mouse click and phone calls can be recorded and databased straight to hard disk for emailing or archiving.

Thanks to the UK's recent opening up of local phone numbers, it's possible to pick any number you want to be your incoming - you can even set up numbers abroad.

If you're looking to start a small biz or upgrade your phone systems, you might want to check them out. Why not let us know your thoughts on VoIP over in the forums?
