At the Leipzig games convention this year, Sony has unveiled a host of new products which it hopes will entice new users to the PlayStation way of gaming, including a 160GB PS3 bundle, a new PSP SKU and a new add-on controller for the PlayStation 3.

First up, the bundle. The new SKU that Sony has announced is a 160GB PlayStation 3, with region-specific offers. In America the new console will go on sale in November and will come with a Dual-Shock SixAxis controller, a copy of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and a PlayStation Network voucher that can be redeemed for a copy of PAIN. The whole bundle will retail in the US for $499.

In the UK and Europe the same console will sell for €449 and also include a voucher for €70 of PlayStation Network downloads.

Sony has also announced a new model of PSP which is set to hit shelves come October 15th in Europe. Looks-wise the PSP 3000 looks identical to previous models, but it will include an in-built microphone that enables Skype use from the off. The PSP 3000 will also have an improved screen that should be brighter and give less glare.

Lastly, Sony has unveiled a new add-on keyboard attachment for PlayStation 3 controllers. The new wireless keyboard attachment is designed to plug in to the top of existing controllers, connecting through the mini-USB port though it can also be paired with other devices through Bluetooth.

Though details are still a little bit sketchy when it comes to price and availability, Sony has promised that the keyboard will have a touchpad mode for mouse control, be available in eight different languages and should offer at least limited game support if developers decide to support it in the future.

Here at bit-tech.net we're definitely impressed by the prospect of a no-glare PSP and the new bundle seems promising too, though we're a bit unsure about how comfy the keyboard add-on will be. What do you think? Let us know in the forums.
