Comments from Sony have hinted that the long awaited and even longer delayed Gran Turismo 5
for the PlayStation 3 may be edging closer to release, much to the delight of fans.
Unfortunately though, that date is still a long way off - summer 2010 is as close as Sony seems willing to commit.
The comments come from SCEA spokesperson Chris Hinojosa-Miranda, who confirmed to Destructoid
that the game was looking good for a summer release next year. The reveal has since been taken offline, but not before it was captured by the likes of Kotaku
The Japanese version of Gran Turismo 5
is apparently still on track for a March 2010 release, so an international release a few months afterwards is pretty likely though it does seem weird that Sony wouldn't make that information more clear.
First announced in 2006, Gran Turismo 5
is one of the most delayed titles for the platform, though also one of the most anticipated. It's claimed to have more than 1000 cars and 20 tracks, with 70 unique circuits.
The game certainly looks fantastic, but we'll hold off our judgement until we get a proper chance to play it. Until then, let us know your thoughts in the forums
