Electronic Arts and Hothead Games have announced that Deathspank, the Diablo-style RPG from the man behind the first Monkey Island games, will finally be coming to PC and Mac later this month.

Ron Gilbert's Deathspank was released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade back in July, but a PC release was unconfirmed and seemed increasingly unlikely.

Hothead's Vlad Ceraldi told Eurogamer however that a PC version of the game was now planned for release and had come about as a direct result of pressure from fans.

Deathspank will be priced at £9.99 in the UK when it finally touches down on the PC, or £8.99 for pre-orderers.

Deathspank tells the story of a deluded hero, the eponymous Deathspank, who sets out on a grand adventure to collect a magical artefact called The Magical Artefact. He doesn't know why he wants it, but he knows it is his destiny.

Hmm I dunno. This didn't really get stellar reviews on console. I think I'll stick with Darksiders as my next title.
