Microsoft has announced that it has managed to sell 2.5 million Kinect units worldwide in just 26 days on sale - and expects to reach sales of 5 million before the hectic Christmas shopping season is over.
'We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect,' said Microsoft's president of the Interactive Entertainment Business Don Mattrick.
'With sales already exceeding two and a half million units in just 26 days, we are on pace to reach our forecast of 5 million units sold to consumers this Christmas.'
Gamers seem to be voting with their wallets, with Kinect hardware already difficult to source in various retail outlets.
'[We] are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand,' continued Mattrick
