's multiplayer beta will go live on 16th May at 8:00am GMT and will run until 6th June 7:59am GMT, Bungie said this morning.
This means that those of you who purchased specially marked copies of Crackdown
, or won a spot on the beta will be able to download and have a peek at the multiplayer aspect of the title via their Xbox Live Gold account.
The beta consists of three maps -- Snowbound, High Ground and Valhalla -- which have had some love from the game's artists since the first multiplayer screenshots were released.
On these levels, you'll be able to try out new guns, vehicles and gameplay features including a new enhanced online functionality that Bungie is planning to bring to the game.
However, the developer was also quick to state that there are a lot of features that will not be unveiled in the beta. Instead, Bungie is saving some surprises for the game's release, which is expected to happen in the Autumn.
Bungie also said that if you haven't already got on the beta, you can still do so by collecting one of the marked copies of Crackdown
