Electronic Arts has announced that a single player demo for Crysis, the eagerly-anticipated first-person shooter from Crytek, will be released on 25th September – the same day that Halo 3 is released for Xbox 360 in the US.

The demo will feature the first level of the game, “Contact”, which is the same level that we had chance to play at i31 earlier this month.

At the time, we thought there was still quite a bit of work to be done on the shooter, but I’m still pretty optimistic about the title considering the code we played on was pre-alpha, and let's not forget that I was a huge Far Cry fan too.

Crytek is yet to announce the minimum and recommended system specifications, but we can expect to find out when the demo hits the net, if not before.

The game will be released simultaneously in Europe and North America on 16th November. Are you looking forward to it, and if so, will you be upgrading your system to play it? Tell us in the forums.

Thanks to bit-tech forum member The Stig for the tip.
