The voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, has let it slip that Batman: Arkham Knight is due for release in January 2015.

Talking to Groovey.TV during the Denver Comic-Con, Conroy said that Arkham Knight was originally supposed to be released this January but that it was delayed. He gives the reason for the game being delayed as ’because it’s so awesome.’

’We’ve been working on it for a year and a half, it’s still not done. So it’s going to come out next January,’ said Conroy. ’I know everyone is frustrated.’

Batman: Arkham Knight is returning the Batman series to original developers Rocksteady. An E3 trailer confirmed that it had been delayed in to 2015 but Conroy's statements are the first time a specific month has been pinned to that. The game was previously due for release by the end of the year.

Arkham Knight was originally revealed earlier this year in March, gaining particular attention thanks to its inclusion of the iconic Batmobile which has been described by developers as a ‘core element’ of gameplay. The game is being developed for Playstation 4, Xbox One and the PC.

The previous entry in the Batman series, Arkham Origins, was released last October and was developed by Warner Bros. Games Montréal. The game was met with relatively positive reviews but several outlets pointed out that it did not compare favourably with previous entries in the series.
