Computex 2015 - SilverStone

As expected, SilverStone had a range of new and upcoming cases on display at this year's Computex. The one that instantly caught our attention, however, was the MBX MKII, a special limited edition of the TJ07 chassis that is simply stunning. Only 250 are being made for now, and it will set you back at least $1,250 (yes, you read that right) for the case alone, but it truly is a work of art. We recommend checking out the Xforma website through which it is exclusively available and having a little drool session.

Back to reality, and the next case we saw was the Raven RVZ02 (no pics of this one - sorry!), the upgrade to the original super slim yet supremely cool Raven RVZ01 mini-ITX case. This time, it will be even slimmer, and sold in two options, one with a window and one with a clip-on dust filter.

Next was the Temjin TJ08-Pro, an evolution of the TJ08-E, and SilverStone's first case to feature onboard USB 3.1 Type C ports. It comes with a front mounted 180mm Air Penetrator fan so cooling is once again practically guaranteed to be awesome, especially as there's a mesh front panel section and no drive cages blocking the airflow behind it. Double radiators can be installed in the roof and front sections, and there's support for long graphics cards and PSUs and fairly large CPU coolers too.

Related to this is the Precision PS07-E, which has the same internal design as the TJ08-E but a shifted focus from performane to low noise. The Air Penetrator is scrapped for a pair of 120mm intakes and there is noise dampening foam behind the solid front door and lining the sides and roof.

Yet another related case is the CS380, which again has a different focus in its design, this time targeting media producers who require masses of storage but who also perhaps like to dabble in gaming as well. There are eight 3.5in/2.5in drive bays and two dedicated 2.5in ones as well. The standard eight ones are all hot-swappable and use SATA backplane connectors with capacitors for extra stability. Despite the large number of drive mounts full length GPUs in the main slot are still supported. Given that is may be used in somewhat industrial systems, the interior remains unpainted and achieves complete EMI shielding. Both the power button switch and front door are also lockable for added security.

SilverStone also had some nifty PSUs on show. First was a digital version of the fully modular Zeus PSU, with 1,200W on tap and an 80 Plus Platinum rating. It has masses of cable connections as well as a USB header for connection to your motherboard. This allows you to monitor and control the PSU – you can fine tune voltages and implement custom fan curves for example. The software isn't finalised but does come with different skins.

Lastly, we saw the fully modular SX700-LPT 700W PSU, which is 80 Plus Platinum certified as well and fits the SFX-L form factor, which is slightly larger than SFX but still has significant space savings compared to standard ATX measurements. It also has dual PCI-E connectors, a first for an SFX or SFX-L power supply.
