Computex 2015 - G.Skill

G.Skill is expanding the markets it's a part of and entering into the world of PSUs and gaming peripherals.

The G.Skill Ripjaws power supplies will be available in 750W, 850W and 1,250W capacities and are fully modular and 80 Plus Gold or Platinum certified. They also use 100 percent Japanese capacitors.

G.Skill is also launching gaming mice, keyboards and headsets. The mouse is the MX780 RGB and features a customisable, ambidextrous body and lighting system. It uses a 32-bit ARM processor, Avago 8,200 DPI laser sensor and Omron switches rated for 20 million clicks. It can store up to five customisable profiles with four controllable RGB lighting zones and eight fully programmable buttons.

The keyboard, meanwhile, is the Ripjaws KM780, available with either RGB backlighting or just plain red backlighting and with Cherry MX Red or Cherry MX Brown switches (the Cheryry MX RGB switches are no longer exclusive to Corsair). You can store up to three customisable settings and switch between them using the dedicate mode switches, with each containing its own lighting patterns, macros, timers, key delay/repeat rate settings, polling rate and more. N-key rollover is support and the lighting and function of every key can be programmed on a per-key basis and there are six extra dedicated macro keys as well as media keys and a detachable soft touch wrist rest – it's definitely very feature rich to say the least. The mouse and keyboard will both be controlled through the G.Skill Unified Driver System.

Finally, we have the headsets; the Ripjaws SR910 and Ripjaws SV710. Both offer 7.1 surround sound but on the former it is true surround sound managed by 10 independent drivers, while the latter offers the virtual solution using dual 50mm drivers. They use heavily padded circumaural earcups and a suspended headband design for comfort. The microphone has built-in environmental noise cancellation too, and in-line controls are included as well.
