Manufacturer: Aqua PCs
UK Price (as Reviewed): £131.91

On hearing that we had some Flex II in (da) house, Aqua PC's were only too keen to send us a kit specifically designed to go with it. Should this be what OCZ offered all along as an optional extra? Perhaps. Either way, it sure beats the bundled crap you has been condensed to fit in a drive bay for example - here we have some serious equipment:
  • 1 x XSPC Single Bay Pump - 200lph at 12V with a 1.2m head.
  • 1 x XSPC RS120 Black Radiator
  • 1 x Yate Loon D12SM-12 120mm Case Fan
  • 6 x 3/8 Tubing Clips
  • 4 x 3/8" Connectors
  • 4m of high quality 3/8" tubing
You get all this in addition to the Flex II memory, so effectively you're paying less than £30 for an all inclusive kit that is designed to work with it. The benefit of this is you can then string on other parts like a watercooled motherboard (Asus Republic of Gamer series, Gigabyte Extreme series or the MSI P45 Diamond) or even a CPU block or watercooled graphics card in at a later date - however beware of the limited total cooling capacity a single 120mm radiator will offer. For the cost of a heatsink, in our opinion it has fantastic potential as a starting block to further investigate the world of watercooling.

The radiator and pump won't win any performance awards and since they are XSPC branded we assumed they'd have a quality build behind them. Unfortunately this was not the case - the 3-pin pump connector was very poorly fitted and two of its wires were very loose. The fan is a quiet sleeve bearing, 25mm thick, and at 7V the Yate Loon branded fan will shift 28CFM for around 23dB - that's really very quiet. The super long cable means you can through the reservoir the other side of a case, but it really, really needs some braiding.

It's not mentioned on the website so we're not actually sure if it's included, but we also got some Fesser View "Active UV Dye" that's also an ethylene glycol based preserver and anti-bacterial agent for your water.

Building a Beast

We really couldn't help ourselves - we wanted to show our readers what it was like fitted in a case, after all, the 4-way manifold isn't the most elegant solution in the world, but does it all still look good as part of a greater beast? You're buying it to work together after all. A quick run around the office and we managed to scoop together this little lot in order to see how it all fits together:
  • Asus Maximus Formula (Intel X38 - Integrated watercooled "Fusion" northbridge block)
  • BFG GeForce GTX 280 WC (Integrated DangerDen GPU watercooling block)
  • Akasa Omega Case (Integrated radiator space)
Is the kit limited to running just the memory or is it a value-add to include other parts of your system? If so, how much can it handle?
