The APOC Project

Worklog: Here

Sebtiger impressed us with his ambition of "producing a case that was worthy to be featured in the bit-tech modding section and Custom PC Community Reader's Drives". A tall order indeed. However he's on the right track with a MOTM nomination. It's now up to you, the reader to decide by voting for The APOC Project, if it takes your fancy that is!

Inspired by the Red Alert 3 Apocalypse Tank, The APOC Project has already drummed up some serious interest in the project log forum and the last major update a few weeks ago showed some real progress and what appears to be an impressively large and complicated scratch build featuring a crazy perspexframe.

Some sketches sebtiger made early on show the scale of the project with plenty of interesting features from watercooling to a motorised grinder. The design and cooling certainly look and sound epic so far.

A majority of The APOC Project is constructed of acrylic frames that make up the shape of the tank. Here we can see the tracks of the tank coming together as well as a large middle section with a top, side and bottom pieces.

Above we can clearly see a custom made back panel for the case following some great looking images of this and other sections being cut out in sebtiger's worklog. We think someone has been up all night modding! Just don't roll over! The build is really starting to take shape at this point and we can see just how big it's going to be.

In the most recent updates to The APOC Project sebtiger has been hard at work with the tank tracks with large sheets of rubber making up the beginnings of the tracks. The rubber will also serve as a vibration damper - clever. Finally we've seen some large panels making up the exterior of the case coming in to form.

We can't wait for some more updates to The APOC Project and if you think it deserves to win, head over to our forums to vote for it.
