Some things I cannot do very easily every few seconds when wearing a particle mask. I did make mistakes, some I corrected pretty easily. And as for the rest, well if you can see them then you spent as much time looking at this thing that I did. I could point them out, but where would be the fun in that?

The complete evolution of the calendar took about eight to nine days and at least 70 hours of hunchback work, pouring over minute details. Sometimes as little as one millimeter at a time. And working at several depths, I had to move slowly. Mistakes can be corrected, or hidden sometimes. But it's better to not make them in the first place.

After the calendar was finished I moved to the handle and the hard drive trays. The trays were rounded, and I was installing square pieces over them. So I brought out the Dremel and a sanding bit, and proceeded to make an insane, enormous, yellow mess.

I really wanted every aspect of the original design to come through in my mod. It wasn't a request by the contest holders or anything, I just wanted to keep as much functionality as I could. I really respected and enjoyed the amount of thought that went into the design that I also tried to include it all. The handle on the top was a key feature and it's still usable. As well as the door, the window, and the hard drive tray placements.

Making sure the overall structure was sound, it was time to move on to the more intricate details. I was planning initially to make most of the case with a stone work layout. Thankfully, I didn't stick to that plan. I wanted carvings, and more carvings. It seemed like the more I did the more I needed to do.
