The PowerGuard status alarm has been updated updated and now doesn't have the buzzer so only a visual identification is left. While a buzzer is annoying the visual notification from a single LED at the back of your power supply is not exactly obvious and according to Enermax documentation there's not even a low RPM fan warning any more, which is quite disconcerting.

In addition to this, there's also HeatGuard that keeps the PSU fan on for 30-60 seconds after shutdown - this is different to CoolGuard of past as it only powers the PSU fan and not the case fans as well.

Both new designs also have six rails, rather than five on the previous Galaxy, and while it features a dedicated transformer and components for the 5/6Amps of 5V standby, the main 3.3V and 5V conversion are done on the modular PCB that is bolted to the back of the PSU - this saves PCB space and means these conversions are done right next to the cables and connectors they'll be fed down. Another trick Enermax has used is that the MOSFETs also have ferrite coils around the legs, which it claims works better at keeping the ripple lower, instead of just one large coil over a bundle of cables or at the end of the cable near the connector plug.

Finally both the Galaxy EVO and Revolution will support the new C6 state with a minimum load of 0W so your system can really get some kip and you can save about 40W of power.
