Paramount Software has released v5.0 of its popular PC backup and recovery software 'Macrium Reflect'.

Macrium Reflect gives home and business PC users the ability to image their hard disks or back up individual files and folders to protect themselves from a hard disk crash or accidental file deletion.

Macrium Reflect comes in three editions; Standard, Professional and Server. The Professional and Server editions include technology to deploy a disk image to dissimilar hardware. This enables businesses to quickly recover from catastrophic hardware failure.

The Macrium Reflect Rescue environment recovery CD includes features unique in its price class. Along the with the ability to do bare metal restores in case of disk failure, this ability is now extended to entirely new hardware. The new Rescue environment now affords the complete set of complex imaging and restore features found in the windows application.

Macrium Reflect also includes a VB Script generator that gives full control of the backup process using Microsoft's Windows Scripting Host (WSH). "We designed the script generator so that customers with no scripting experience could easily extend Macrium Reflect's functionality," said Paramount Software managing director Nick Sills.

"We wanted to give home and small business customers the kind of flexibility and control normally only found with more expensive backup solutions," he added.

Macrium Reflect is available for Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Server operating systems and retails for $44.99, $58.99 and $179.99 for the Standard, Professional and Server Editions. A 30 day trial can be downloaded at www.macrium.com.
