D-Link Wireless N Bridge Simultaneously Delivers Superior Performance and Clarity for up to four mediums: Ideal for HD Streaming, Gaming Consoles and Media Players

LONDON, UK – 6th May, 2009 – The new D-Link DAP-1522 Wireless N Dualband Access Point enables users to create a powerful Wi-Fi bridge to the home entertainment system using the latest draft 802.11n technology. The DAP-1522 connects up to four wired devices to an existing wireless network providing high performance to home entertainment systems for HD streaming, online gaming and more. The DAP-1522 is the latest addition to the award winning Wireless N product family.

The new D-Link Wireless Bridge allows users to connect Ethernet-enabled devices such as game consoles, digital video recorders (DVR), and digital media players to a built-in 4-port Gigabit switch. The DAP-1522 then connects these devices to an existing Wi-Fi network with next-generation dual-band 11n (2.4GHz or 5GHz) wireless technology. The DAP-1522 can also connect devices to 802.11g networks.

The DAP-1522 showcases D-Link's Green Ethernet™ technology, which can reduce energy consumption by up to 80%. Green Ethernet technology conserves energy by evaluating the distance required for network transmission. Power consumption is automatically adjusted for efficient energy use. Unused ports automatically enter power-saving mode reducing energy use to a minimum without sacrificing performance.

The D-Link Wireless Bridge has selectable 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands, both of which are part of the upcoming 802.11n standard. The less-crowded 5GHz band is ideal for wirelessly streaming HD videos across networks and avoids interference by providing a clearer wireless band for transferring HD signals. The bandwidth is also ideal for any other network intensive applications.

The Wi-Fi certified DAP-1522 can also be used to create a new 11n wireless network using its Access Point feature when connected to an existing wired or wireless router. This scenario incorporates the DAP-1522 as both a 'send' and 'receive' unit, with one connected at the router where the broadband connection arrives and the other at the home entertainment centre or multiple device connection point.

"The DAP-1522 delivers superior wireless performance, clarity and coverage," said Chris Davies, General Manager, D-Link UK & Ireland. "It offers an ideal solution for creating or expanding a powerful wireless 802.11n network for virtually any networked device in the home."

Price and Availability

The DAP-1522 is available now through D-Link's wide network of retailers and online resellers with a recommended retail price (RRP) of £99.99 inc. VAT. Visit www.dlink.co.uk for more information.
