ASUS launch NX90 mirror-like notebook with audio designed by Bang & Olufsen IcePower® technology & ASUS SonicMaster for superior audio

ASUS today announced the UK launch of the head-turning NX90 notebook – a multimedia work of art designed in conjunction with David Lewis and Bang & Olufsen IcePower®.

With an 18.4” high definition screen, two gigantic speakers, a dual touchpad design and stunning polished-aluminium finish, the NX90 breaks visual and audio boundaries of what is expected from a desktop replacement notebook and is the perfect living room accompaniment for those seeking an interactive touch of luxury in the home.

The ASUS NX90 is priced at £2,499 and will be available from a range of high street and online retailers, including Harrods, Micro Anvika, Selfridges, Comet, Scan Computers (www.scan.co.uk), Platinum Solutions and www.ebuyer.com.

Lavishly designed to take centre stage in the living room:

Until now, many notebooks have been regarded as a simple commodity; designed to compute with aesthetics often an afterthought. The ASUS NX90 is different: it is a beautiful high-end notebook exquisitely designed to reflect the ambience of the home whilst doing a spectacular job of replacing traditional desktop PCs and media centers.

The ASUS NX90 has been crafted with the input of award-winning designer David Lewis - a style icon whose studio is the main force behind the Bang & Olufsen eye-catching look.

When talking about the NX90, David Lewis says: “What we were going for was a piece of design and art that people could place in the centre of their home and take great joy in its appearance. To me, it’s not just a machine, the objective was to create a style to challenge the way people regard notebooks”.

The result is a true work of art, with a unique mirror-like polished aluminium casing and massive speakers set either side of the 18.4” screen.

ASUS NX90 and SonicMaster drive audio to unprecedented heights:

The ASUS NX90 is on a par with full surround sound systems, thanks to the two larger-than-average speakers either side of the screen totalling 108cc (approximately 3-4 times the size of traditional internal laptop speakers). Generating a ‘wrap around’ effect, they can handle an extensive frequency range to ensure faithful sound reproduction and absolute clarity without any distortion.

Developed to deliver a pure and vibrant sound experience, the ASUS SonicMaster standard was created by the ASUS ‘Golden Ear’ team and the acclaimed Bang & Olufsen ICEpower® innovations house.

Essentially a set of benchmarks for laptop audio, it guarantees the best possible sound quality for every kind of use, whether relaxing with a movie or catching up with friends on a video call. With the rise of digital music libraries and online streamed content, music lovers will be delighted to hear their favourite tunes in such lucid tones – finally escaping the crackling and tinny noises of outdated technology.

Dual touchpad design for intuitive ‘DJ-style’ control:

Featuring two large touchpad areas either side of the keyboard, the ASUS NX90 combines a unique DJ-style interface to make navigation and manipulation easier and more accessible – especially for music and video libraries. Two-handed movement, zooming and scrolling are now possible at every music maestro’s fingertips.

Function follows form – a highly powerful multimedia center:

To complement the top-end design, the ASUS NX90 boasts a powerful set of credentials to match. Intel Core i7 processors and 6GB DDR3 RAM deliver speed and performance for smooth, uninterrupted media playback, whilst storage space of up to 1.2 terabytes means finding a place to save those high definition files won’t be a worry.

The brand new USB 3.0 technology is up to 10x faster at transferring data and charging phones than USB 2.0 – meaning less time waiting and more time staying entertained.
