Elitegroup Computer Systems, Inc. (ECS), a leading computer hardware and notebook manufacturer, is set to introduce a full line of Intel® 965/946 Express Chipset-based motherboards supporting the latest Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors at Computex Taipei 2006, June 6-9 at N.Y.N.Y., Taipei.

Based on the Broadwater chipset, the ECS PX1, P965T-A, G965T-M, P946PLT-A, and 946GZT-M motherboards feature technological breakthroughs including support for Core™ 2 Duo CPUs, which adopt next generation micro-architecture (NGMA) that enables developers and integrators to create more compact, more quiet, and energy efficient desktop platforms suitable for a wide range of productive computing, gaming and digital home entertainment applications. This motherboard series is fully-compatible with the upcoming Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ operating system.

Bringing high-end performance to desktop computers, the flagship ECS PX1 carries a maximum 1066 MHz FSB, up to 8 GB dual-channel DDR2 memory architecture, and the revolutionary ECS Qoolteck technology–proven to dramatically reduce southbridge and northbridge generated heat for the most stable operation. The PX1 embodies Intel® Viiv™ technology via the LGA775 socket, Intel® P965/Intel® ICH8-DH chipset, and Dual Gigabit LAN and implements the Intel® Advanced Fan Speed Control (AFSC) tuning optimisation feature for optimum system acoustics.

For those who want the latest great performance, ECS will offer the P965T-A and G965T-M motherboards. With support for up to eight Serial ATA hard disk drives, diverse expansion slots and 8-channel high-definition audio, the P965T-A is perfect for multimedia platforms, while the G965T-M motherboard supports the latest Intel® Clear Video Technology designed for high-resolution, graphic-intensive rendering and video processing.

Users migrating to the latest Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors can take advantage of the flexibility and practicality of P46PLT-A and 946GZT-M motherboards. Combining the Intel® 946PL/Intel® 946GZ chip with the Intel® ICH7 Southbridge, these motherboards enable seamless CPU upgrade while maintaining support for IDE devices to protect the users’ storage investments.
