Archos has revealed the Archos Helium 45 and Helium 50 smartphones that it will be debuting at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week.

The new phones are aimed at the budget end of the market, with the Helium 45 set to cost £189-£199.99 and the Helium 50 £229.99-£239.99.

Both phones will have 4G connectivity, by powered be a Qualcomm MSM8926 quad-core processor and 1GB RAM, and run Android 4.3, with full access to the Play Store - some of Archos' previous devices have foregone meeting Google's requirements for Play Store access. They also both feature a microSD slot for easy storage expansion.

Where the two differs is that the Archos Helium 50 will sport a 5in 720p IPS display and an 8MP rear camera and will be powered by a 2000mAh battery. Meanwhile the cheaper Helium 45 model has a 4.5in 854 x 480 pixel IPS display, 4GB of storage, a 5MP camera and a 1700mAh battery.

Both devices appear to have a reasonable selection of features for the prize but will have to impress in other areas if they're to standup against the likes of the Moto G, a budget phone that many have lauded as the best phone of last year. The Heliums will be coming to a variety of markets in Europe, including the UK but there are no fixed release dates yet.
