EK Water Blocks has announced the launch of new dual-bay reservoirs for liquid cooling systems, alongside a monoblock for cooling the CPU and MOSFET modules of a Gigabyte ZX170X Gaming 5, Gaming 7, and UD5 TH motherboard.

Designed to nest in a two 5.25" drive bays, taking up the same space as a classic full-height 5.25" Winchester drive, the EK-DBAY D5 MX family builds on the company's existing EK-DBAY D5 range but with modifications designed to reduce the manufacturing cost - and, therefore, the selling price. As a result, you can expect to see evolutionary rather than revolutionary changes.

The EK-DBAY D5 PWM MX features an integrated Laing D5 water pump with pulse-width modulation (PWM) speed control, while the reservoir itself is manufactured from injection-moulded black ABS polymer in the acetal version of transparent MABS polymer in the plexi version. Those with existing pumps can buy the reservoirs separately, while standalone reservoirs can be upgraded in the future with the purchase of the compatible pump.

The top of each reservoir features a G3/8"-threaded fill port and three G1/4"-threaded ports - two for use as inlet and outlet on the rear, and one on the base for using as a drain port. The company has also included an acrylic anti-cyclone system as standard, claiming that it works to prevent excessive vortex formation in the liquid. Coupled with an anti-vibration rubber mounting system, the company claims the setup is a quiet as can be.

The new reservoirs are launched alongside a monoblock for Gigabyte's Z170X motherboard family. Designed to match the white and black theme of the boards, the oversized block covers both the system's CPU and the MOSFETS using the company's EK-Supremecy EVO cooling design. Constructed from electrolytic copper with a nickel plating, the company is offering two variants: one topped in POM acetal and the other in acrylic glass.

The EK-DBAY D5 PWM MX range is available now from the company's official shop, priced at €64.95 stand-alone or €129.95 with bundled pump; the monoblock is priced at €119.95 in either variant.
