ASUS have announced that they are getting into the LCD monitor business with models availabile immediately.

There are four monitors that all sport 17" screens. Top of the range is the PM17TU, which has a 3ms response time and a 500cd/m brightness with a 600:1 contrast ratio. This model will come in at £199+VAT, with the low-end model (8ms, 400cd/m brightness) costing £153+VAT.

As a bonus, ASUS are offering a unique zero dead pixel warranty for an entire year, which means that if one of the blighters shows up at any point in the first twelve months, you can get a replacement. This is a pretty awesome step for a monitor manufacturer to take, and looks like being ASUS' unique selling point in an otherwise competitive market.

ASUS will also offer a three year standard warranty.

We'll be taking a look at one of these babies very shortly. In the meantime, head by the forums to give us your thoughts on this latest entry into thte monitor market.
