Have you gotten fed up of having to muck around at the back of your Nintendo Wii every time you want to plug in a wired controller?

Do you long for some 4-player Gamecube controller action, but can't be arsed pulling out your home entertainment system all the time?

How about just making your Wii a little more snazzy with some blue lighting?

A chap called hollowfreak has pulled apart his Wii, created a new white plastic housing and re-routed the control ports to the front - making for plug-and-go action.

It also has the side effect of making the Wii about double the height which, in the Cheap Ass Gamer forum thread, avoids the problem of a small Wii - "My Wii was so small next to my xbox and ps2 that I was getting an Inferiority complex," says hollowfreak.

There are pictures of the creation process with the wiring and circuitry laid bare, and there's no doubt that the final thing looks pretty nifty. Let us know your thoughts over in the forums.
