Hands cramped from mashing Sony's tiny PlayStation controllers? Or perhaps Microsoft just isn't modern enough and you're tired of the lack of motion sensors in the massive 360 gamepad?

Either way, have qualms no more as, with a few tools and a little modding know-how, you can combine the two and have the PS3's SixAxis controller embedded inside the gargantuan Xbox 360 controller!

Engadget recently hosted this step-by-step mod guide which details exactly how Ben Heckendorn managed to clone the PS3 circuits and sensors into the Xbox 360 shell, right down to the familiar PlayStation Logo

There are some obvious benefits presented by the project, namely that it's not going to be as easy to lose that cute little PS3 controller now that it's the size of a small planet.

Be warned though, the process needs a little bit of dremel work -- though nothing the average bit-tech modder should be intimidated by -- and will leave the 360 controller as a pile of loose circuit boards gathering dust in the corner.
