Potential case mod alert - Lego Millenium Falcon

"Laugh it up, fuzzball!"

OK, so it's not often we see a product and think - "Oh my God, that has to be a case mod." But sometimes, just sometimes, a product appeals to us on so many levels. This is one of those times.

For starters, it's not like you get the Lego Millenium Falcon pre-built - it already requires a heck of a lot of assembly, perfect for modders everywhere. And since it's a hunk of junk that always requires repairs, why not customise it a little? There's great potential for modding in just the kit itself.

Of course, the Falcon is one of the fastest ships in the galaxy, making it perfectly suited to housing a top of the line PC. The Lego replica is three foot long, so getting the kit in there might be a squeeze - but that's why we're modders, right? A few PCI bendy brackets here, a custom shell there - it's gotta be possible to get some Micro ATX kit in there.

Lastly, it has an insane amount of geek appeal. C'mon, who can resist the Millenium Falcon? It's the ultimate symbol of all that is geeky. It's a cobbled together machine that performs admirably, most of the time, but is prone to tantrums - sound like your PC? It certainly sounds like mine!

The kit is on sale very soon for a fabulous $499 / £349, and has over 5000 pieces. Think you can take it on? Here's the store page.

Potential case mod alert - Lego Millenium Falcon

OK, someone has to put a PC inside of this. Ok, so it might cost four times the price of your average computer case, but can your PC do the Kessel run in 12 parsecs?
