Does Carbon Fiber have good thermal properties then? I would have thought it would have been more of an insulator?

The entire computing world does seem to be slightly addicted to carbon fibre at the moment, it seems. First modders with carbon fibre mods, then Ultra with it's case and now GeIL with it's RAM heatspreaders.

CF is a polymer based with a carbon based fiber. NEither the polymer resin used nor the carbon are known for their ability to conduct heat. The Pics from GIEL look like it is just a thin layer on top of an Aluminum Spreader. I am thinking it is just another company trying to get on the carbon fiber band wagon.
