I'm curious, how much do nvidia or HP actually pay you to put this in the forums?
Just wondering, that's all...

That would be called a PRESS RELEASE, and I'm quite sure Tim would have reproduced a press release produced by ATi just as readily.

I do wonder, however, where the actual announcement is in this. I mean, we all know Purevideo accelerates video decoding, and that laptops with integrated HD-DVD drives are shipping.

We don't get anything for posting these press releases in much the same way that we don't get paid to "review" someone's hardware. The amount of news we recieve each day is too overwhelming to write everything up for the site, but we attempt to post all/most of the press releases we recieve in our inbox in this forum if we deem the release to be of interest to the readership.

We're putting them here for general interest and your benefit - if you don't want them, we can stop...

Really?
I just thought they looked a bit spammy, thats all.

It's a press release, crafted by PR and marketing bods to contain as many buzzwords as possible with content coming much further down the list. This'll have been copy/pasted from the company email with no editing by bit-tech.

It's also mostly read by shareholders. Those who know technology already know most of this.
