Yes, but it decreases performance with most applications. Suppose, like you said, it is another feature to boast.
It's there because it sells the product. In the minds of most people, NCQ gives better performance than without and SATA 3Gb/s doubles the speed of your drive :(

No, it decreases performance with most workstation applications. That doesn't mean it's useless.
