Peripherals specialist Razer has announce a blast from the past, bringing its Diamondback gaming mouse out of retirement in the form of a refreshed Collector's Edition model
Built for fans of the original 2004 design, the Razer Diamondback Collector's Edition boasts an upgrade to a new sensor module featuring up to 16,000 dots per inch (DPI) resolution - ten times that of the original 2004 design - and a 1,000Hz polling rate. The exterior, two, has been subtly updated with the inclusion of Razer's cross-product Chroma RGB programmable lighting system to the sides of the mouse and the scroll wheel.
Unlike many gaming mouse designs, the Diamondback is built to be ambidextrous. The new revision also boasts configuration options lacking from the original design, including one-DPI incremental resolution adjustments and the option to adjust the lift cut-off distance - the height the mouse must be lifted from the gaming surface before it stops trying to track movement - down to as low as 0.1mm.
