EK Water Blocks has announced the launch of new entries in the Vardar fan family, boasting an extended range to their pulse-width modulation (PWM) duty cycle.

Named, the company repeats at the top of each of its press releases for the fan family, for a type of the cold north-westerly wind blowing from the mountains down to the valleys of Macedonia enhanced by a channelling effect while blowing down through the Moravia-Vardar gap and bringing cold conditions from the north to the Thessaloniki area of Greece, the EK Vardar range is designed specifically for use with liquid-cooling radiators - hardly a surprise, given EK's business focus. As a result, the fans boast high static pressure while offering low noise.

The new EK Vardar F4-120ER extends the range, offering the same features as the rest of the EK Vardar Fx-120 fans - including actively-cooled motor windings, double ball bearing, sealed-edge fan casing, and optimised high-pressure operation - but with an extended pulse-width modulation (PWM) duty cycle of between 25 and 100 per cent, allowing them to idle at lower speeds than their non-ER equivalents.

The Vardar F4-120ER is available in black and white finishes, and includes four self-tapping screws for mounting and a colour-matched pre-sleeved cable. The fans can operate at up to 2,200rpm at which point they hit a noise-level high of 33.5dBA, according to EK's internal testing. Both colours are available for €16.95, a €2 premium over the non-ER versions, with UK pricing yet to be confirmed.

The fans are in-stock and available to order now from EK's own web shop.
