Aerocool announces GT-A mid-tower case

The Aerocool GT-A boasts an aggressive, and likely divisive, exterior design which is claimed to boost airflow, along with a handy SATA dock in the top panel.

Aerocool is continuing its product expansion plans with the launch of the GT-A midi-tower chassis, building on the company's existing GT case family.

Following on from the company's redesigned DS Cube launch in June and the DS 200 earlier this month, Aerocool has chosen to focus on its GT family for the next product launch. Dubbed the GT-A, the company's latest case launches in white and black or black and red dual-colour finishes, both of which include a window in the side-panel as standard. Two 120mm fans are included with the case, one front and one rear, while a smart docking station on the top of the case can accept 2.5" and 3.5" SATA hard drives with hot-swap functionality. Additional exterior features include two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports, HD Audio connectivity, and a pair of rollers for fan speed control.

The interior of the case supports ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards, with claims of room for graphics cards up to 310mm in length. Drive bays include support for three 3.5" hard drives and three 2.5" drives, or six 2.5" drives, while three 5.25" drives bays are available at the top of the case. A total of seven expansion slots are provided, with a claimed height limit for CPU coolers of 165mm. The chassis is constructed from a mixture of 0.6mm steel and plastic.

Aerocool claims to have taken extra care that the cooling performance of the case is top-notch. A shelf-like vent structure at the top of the case boosts airflow, while washable filters are included at the front and for the power supply. In total, the case supports up to five fans - although its built-in two-channel fan controller has a maximum rating of 10W.

UK pricing for the Aerocool GT-A has yet to be confirmed, with Aerocool setting a European recommended retail price of €67.90 in black and €69.90 in white, excluding taxes (around £54 and £55 respectively.) More information is available on the company's product page.
