NVIDIA to launch Quad-SLI in March

It looks like Quad-SLI will become a reality soon. System builders will start shipping their designs on the 22nd March.

NVIDIA will launch its Quad SLI technology on the 22nd March, according to a report on TGDaily,

Sources indicate that the four-way graphics solution will be announced in conjunction with the GeForce 7900 GTX that is understood to be available from the 9th March if the company's previous track record of hard launches continues.

Dell and NVIDIA showcased the new quad GPU architecture at CES in January, but it seems that Dell's customers will not be the only people who're able to buy into this insane amount of graphics power.

Dell and some of the larger enthusiast-orientated system builders will announce that they're shipping Quad-SLI systems - available in limited quantities - on the 22nd. Along with the OEM strategy, NVIDIA plans to make the platform available to enthusiasts too.

Our own sources indicated that the dual GPU cards will be have an SRP somewhere close to the $799 mark, meaning that you'll need to spend $1600 to get the fastest graphics platform on the planet. We expect single GPU GeForce 7900 GTXs to cost around $499 on launch, providing that availability of the new products is healthy.
