Crytek has announced that it will launch a 'remastered' version of the original Crysis on consoles next month.

The new version of Crytek's formally PC-exclusive shooter will include new controls, new lighting and 'all new effects' according to a video reveal on GameTrailers.

A specific launch date beyond October 2011 has not been announced, but the game is confirmed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

The announcement confirms previous rumours that Crytek was working on a console port of Crysis.

First released in 2007, the original Crysis spawned two sequel, Crysis: Warhead and Crysis 2, the latter appearing on both consoles and PC. Predictably, the PC version looked much better.
