A THQ-based Humble Bundle has gone live offering seven of the embattled publisher's titles for a pay-what-you-want cost.

This is the first time the Humble Bundle has been used for a more mainstream triple-A publisher as opposed to a collection of independent titles.

The games featured in the bundle are Darksiders, Metro 2033, Red Faction Armageddon and Company of Heroes along with its two expand-alones Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor. Anyone paying over the average price will also get Saints Row The Third.

At the time of writing with the bundle being live for approximately nine hours, it has already raked in close to $2m with an average purchase of $5.72. As with previous Humble Bundles, customers can chose how to split the money between the developers, the people running the promotion and charities, this time round including Child's Play and the American Red Cross.

THQ has upcoming sequels for both Company of Heroes and Metro 2033 that are due for release in early 2013. The publisher also released Darksiders 2 to a warm critical reception earlier this year. The publisher has been dogged by financial issues over 2012 and suffered a significant net loss in its most recent quarter.

Worries have been expressed that the THQ bundle could damage the Humble Bundle's reputation for supporting lesser known indie titles. Talking to Ars Technica, Humble Bundle co-founder John Graham however stated that they do not intend to stop putting out indie bundles but wanted to see if the pay-what-you-want formula worked with triple-A content as well.
