Minecraft creator Markus Persson, better known as Notch, has explained why there will be no Steam release for Minecraft.

'Using Steam limits a lot of what we’re allowed to do with the game,' Notch said on his blog.

Notch said that there had been no disagreement between Valve and Mojang but Minecraft would steer clear of Steam because it affected ‘how we’re allowed to talk to our users.’

There’s no big argument, we just don’t want to limit what we can do with Minecraft.

Minecraft is a sandbox game where players explore randomly generated worlds made of destructible blocks, which they can then rearrange and craft with to make their own buildings and devices. It's fun!
