Rare has confirmed that its much-loved foul-mouthed squirrel Conker is due to appear in Microsof's Project Spark, both as an episodic game series and as content for game-builders to use in their own projects.

Conker shot to fame in 2001 with the launch of Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Nintendo 64. In-keeping with Nintendo's move to attract a more mature audience, the game had started out as a family-friendly title but morphed during development into a parody of itself with the cute characters juxtaposed with crude toilet humour. While the game was not a commercial success, it developed a cult following and would see a remake - Conker: Live & Reloaded - released for the Xbox in 2005.

That was the last time Conker appeared in an official title, however - until now. As teased by Microsoft late last year, its Project Spark content creation tool is to play host to third-party properties - starting with Conker in an episodic series dubbed Conker's Big Reunion and set a decade after the events of the original game. The game series is joined by a content pack for Spark, a toolkit which allows non-programmers to build games for Windows and the Xbox One, featuring Conker himself and over 300 related game assets for use in their own titles.

Original creator Chris Seavor has been involved in the creation of the pack, and once again lends his voice to the character. The pack is due to arrive on the 23rd of April, with a teaser trailer reproduced below to whet your appetite.
