Top 10 UK PC games chart

Top 10 UK PC games chart

Number None's £9.99 platformer Braid is still selling well after its second week in the Steam chart.

There haven't been many major changes in the retail top 10 PC games chart this week, and Football Manager 2009 is still ruling the chart after ousting Empire: Total War from the top spot last week. Empire: Total War looks as though it's back on the rise, though, as it's just climbed back up from number 3 to number 2, swapping places with Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor. Meanwhile, Far Cry 2 has made a surprise re-entry at number 10, 22 weeks after its original release. Similarly, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is also still selling well at number 7, after 71 weeks in the shops. You can see the retail top 20 for the week ending 18 April below:

01 Football Manager 2009 (No change)
02 Empire: Total War (Last week: 3)
03 Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor (Last week: 2)
04 Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II (No change)
05 World of Warcraft: Wrath of Lich King (No change)
06 The Sims 2: Double Deluxe (No change)
07 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (No change)
08 The Sims 2: Apartment Life (No change)
09 Spore (No change)
10 Far Cry 2 (Re-entry)

After a steady decline in the chart Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. has had a sudden drop down the ranks this week, falling all the way from number 10 to number 19. The Godfather II hasn't had a good time of it either. After entering the chart at number 17 last week, the game has now tumbled down to the exit doors number 20 already. Notable climbers this week include World of Warcraft: Battle Chest, which has scrambled up to number 11, while Call of Duty: World at War has risen two places to number 14, although it's still a fair way off the position of its predecessor in the top 10. You can see the full retail top 20 for the week ending 18 April below:

11 World of Warcraft: Battle Chest (Last week: 14)
12 Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 (No change)
13 Grand Theft Auto IV (Last week: 11)
14 Call of Duty: World at War (Last week: 16)
15 Fallout 3 (Last week: 13)
16 Crysis (Last week: 18)
17 Left 4 Dead (Last week: 15)
18 F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin (Last week: 19)
19 Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. (Last week: 10)
20 The Godfather II (Last week: 17)

Aside from a couple of big games, the Steam chart is a very different beast from the retail top 10 at the moment. Football Manager 2009 is nowhere to be seen here, and the £9.99 indie game Braid is still selling well at number 5. Meanwhile, Dawn of War II has recaptured the number 1 spot from Left 4 Dead this week, while Square Enix's The Last Remnant has dropped from number 4 to number 10. See the full Steam top 10 below:

01 Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II (Last week: 8)
02 Left 4 Dead (Last week: 1)
03 Counter-Strike: Source (Last week: 5)
04 Empire: Total War (Last week: 7)
05 Braid (Last week: 2)
06 Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor (Last week: 3)
07 Call of Duty: World at War (Re-entry)
08 Team Fortress 2 (Last week: 10)
09 The Orange Box (No change)
