Top 10 UK PC games chart

Top 10 UK PC games chart

THQ's latest add-on for Company of Heroes - Tales of Valor - has entered the top 3 in both the retail chart and the Steam chart.

After a decent spell at the top of the fort, Creative Assembly's epic strategy battler Empire: Total War has now been humbled down into third place in the UK retail games chart. You probably won't be surprised to see that its usurper at the top is the ever-popular Football Manager 2009, but we've also got a new number 2 in the form of THQ's latest add-on for Company of Heroes - Tales of Valor. Meanwhile, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. has had another hit this week, and fallen down from number 7 to number 10, and Spore has once again re-entered the top 10 at number 9. You can see the retail top 20 for the week ending 11 April below:

After dropping out of the chart altogether last week, this week saw a re-entry from F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin, although its current chart position at number 19 is still pretty uninspiring. Meanwhile, The Godfather II has entered the chart at number 17. Interestingly, Interestingly, Valve's Left 4 Dead has already dropped out of the top 10 after a brief resurrection last week - the game is now sitting at number 15 in the retail chart. Similarly, it also looks as though Crysis' brief chart revival has now ended as well, as Crytek's graphical extravaganza has now dropped down to number 18. You can see the retail top 20 for the week ending 11 April below:

11 Grand Theft Auto IV (No change)

19 F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin (Re-entry)
20 World In Conflict: Complete Edition (No change)

It's the Steam chart that's provided the more interesting statistics this week, with no fewer than four new entries in the top 10. Okay, so one of them is Peggle Complete, but the £9.99 indie platformer Braid has also entered the chart at number 2. As well as this, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor has taken the number 3 position, while the PC version of Square Enix's The Last Remnant has gone straight in at number 4.
