Role-play your own bad self and try to pretend like you can dance. Drinking is recommended.
You know, if it's one thing the Wii is missing, it's novel party games. As long as you ignore about half of the catalog, that is. It's pretty clear that Wii like to party, so let's rock the partaaaaay - and get down, get down (jungle boogie!). If you thought I had to be running out of bad jokes, there's one more - EA just announced [eurl=]Boogie[/eurl], exclusively for the Wii.
What, that didn't make you laugh? Well, how about this - imagine you and a couple friends sitting around, making cartoon caricatures of yourselves that get points for balance, groovitude, or other abilities in order to star in your own music video. Then, like a bad cross between
American Idol,
Dance, Dance Revolution and
Amplitude, it's time to bust a move.
Ladies and gentlemen, I think we just found the ultimate drinking/party game of 2007. If you thought
Rayman was fun, those rabbits don't have anything on this...
There are two distinctly interesting points about the release of
Boogie. First of all, EA has not (up until now) really recognised the success of the Wii, choosing instead to back the more "next-gen" consoles by and large. Though EA has far from ignored Nintendo's offering, it also has yet to develop one game exclusively for the new console until now.
Second, the game hints at requiring singing as a part of it. While this will probably make every neighbour in your area cringe when you have a party, it also means something more sinister: the Wii might be getting that microphone after all. The microphone has been a rumoured attachment for quite some time, but until now has remained almost entirely that - a rumour.
No matter what, EA's new rhythm game is liable to be turning some heads and tapping some toes.
DDR has been widely accredited as one of the most fun party games ever, so could we be seeing a new king of the hill?

Boogie or the possibility of the Wii microphone

My Wii is used solely as a social console, so more party games sounds like a great idea!
Madden, Need For Speed, SSX Blur,Tiger Woods and The Gofarther
They have already announced:
MySims, Harry Potter Game, Medal of Honour and a new game by Steven Spielberg.
They have announced more games than any other 3rd part publisher.
First of all, welcome to the forums. However, I'd like to disagree with one of your points.
EA may be the development house with the most "announced" titles, but that's because several of these titles have been announced since long before the console launch and have not even made it out yet.
Ubisoft is actually the publisher with the most games for the Wii, by quite a long shot. And to date, the EA games that are out (though I have not tried blur) don't make any real use of Nintendo's control.
MySims is a DS game, so I did not count that. As for SSX Blur, in that one you are correct...and I do stand in error. :)
They did, the problem was they weren't very good... I am talking of course about Red Steel and CoD 3. Granted CoD 3 wasn't that bad but it still could of been much better and it seemed all it needed was some more development time to really tweak the controls, that or the Wii isn't that great with FPS's
Also, Madden has some of the best motion control use of any game out at the moment and that was out at launch (at least in the US). Both Blur and The Godfarther are supposed to use the motion sensing to a large extent.
After all the launch antics, the Ubisoft support has been lacking over the last few months. Hopefully Prince of Persia will prove to be a good port, as their other attempts have been shocking.
I'll probably skip this one though ;)
Looking at other forums it seems to be quite common. Once the launch games are done and dusted then there isn't much esle to invest time in, though now with Sonix, SSX and the Godfarther, things should pick up a bit.
Paper Mario is out soon which looks absolutely brilliant. The Summer/Autumn is gonna be a very busy time for AAA Wii titles by the looks of things.
