Strrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrike!

Congratulations to forum member akpoly, who achieved first place in October's Photo of the Month competition, themed "Motion" with his entry "Bowl".

We also want to congratulate ssR, who claims second place with his entry "Highway Motion", while third place went again to ssR with his entry "Highway Artery" as well as Hwulex who achieved joint third with the same votes with his entry "Flying Orange".

Yet again, we have hooked up with OCZ Technology to give some awesome prizes away to the winners.

The bit-tech digital art forum and the Photo of the Month site are the main hubs for our photography competition. It is held monthly and open to anyone that wants to enter as long as you're a member of our forums (it's free to register) and your forum login will also work with the POTM site - no extra registration is necessary!

The picture can be any photograph of your interpretation of that month's theme, and there is no restriction on what camera you can use. Entries have to be submitted by the 25th of the month, giving you plenty of time to get snapping. The winners are decided by anyone registered in the community who cares to vote - just sign into the POTM website with your forum login.

Since winning, akpoly was charged with nominating the theme for November and he's chosen: "Odds".

Good luck to everyone for November and if you have any questions or comments, drop them over here.

Consider this a bit more open but challenging at the same time...

A composition of odd numbered elements...
Odd one out...
Against all odds...
That was odd...
What were the odds...

a bit different and I'm sure you can find something odd because of Halloween. ;)

Many congrats, is a great shot. Nice for me to be snapping again as well, and even better sneaking on to the third step of the podium. Trying to think ahead to this month's theme now as enjoying shooting again.
Quote Blademrk 7th November 2008, 10:32
I've got a couple of ideas for this theme, just got to see if I can find some time to get out and shoot them.

Is there a problem with the PotM site? I've just tried to log in to upload a photo and it's not letting me in. Is anyone else having the same problem or is it just me?

Its not just you I can't get in as well.
Quote DeMoB 18th November 2008, 21:40
It's getting a bit late on in the month for it to be broke, no-one has been able to upload an entry yet. :(

Who's in charge of maintaining it?

Dan
Quote Bindibadgi 18th November 2008, 22:01
I'll poke Nath to fix.
Quote DeMoB 18th November 2008, 22:15
Thanks :)

EDIT: Only 4 entries uploaded this month...
Quote whisperwolf 25th November 2008, 11:09

Quote bentleya 25th November 2008, 18:54

Quote Bindibadgi 1st December 2008, 08:47
Alright I'm a little late in closing this month, sorry :o

Also - no POTM for December because we're running other competitions later this month which need organising and I'd really like *some* Christmas :p
Quote Blademrk 2nd December 2008, 15:48
How about just extending the deadline to 25th Jan, gives 2 months over Christmas to get some ideas?

Edit: Congratulations to this months winner.
Quote mr_carl 2nd December 2008, 16:04

Quote DeMoB 3rd December 2008, 00:08
We should totally do an unofficial one (or like someone else suggested; have it running till end of Jan).

Dan
Quote lcdguy 3rd December 2008, 16:23
that would be cool. but how would we decide on a theme.
Quote DeMoB 3rd December 2008, 16:25
Make a new thread with a poll with about 4 different options and leave it open a couple of days for people to vote for their favourite.

Or seen as though it's winter/christmas time, have a theme based around that.

Dan
Quote lcdguy 3rd December 2008, 16:27
maybe a theme for winter holidays so it's open to your own interpretation of what you do at the holidays or what this time of year is about.
Quote -equilerex- 9th December 2008, 15:36
sounds pretty much perfect...

perhaps also a joint thread to keep track of everything so the ppl normally in charge of the potm wouldnt have to do anything...
Quote DeMoB 9th December 2008, 15:46
I'll make one :P

Dan
Quote Nath 10th December 2008, 20:35
The PotM site requires pretty much no effort to run, so if you want to use it for the unofficial competition then by all means go for it. :)
Quote DeMoB 10th December 2008, 21:16
If you wouldn't mind, that'd be great thanks :)

Now we'll just have to see if anyone takes up the challange of the unofficial POTM!

Dan
Quote -equilerex- 11th December 2008, 15:59
ofcourse they will... but probably in the end of the month... when the real christmas spirit comes up ^^
