The Unreal Engine 3 has been announced as the engine to be used in the Sin City game.

Game publisher Red Mile has announced that it will be using Epic's Unreal Engine 3 to build a new game based on the Sin City franchise created by Frank Miller.

Red Mile first announced the Sin City game was in the making a little while ago, putting developer Union Entertainment on the job. In the past Union has worked on games such as The Darkness.

Frank Diller, writer of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay and close friend of Frank Miller, has been tapped to write the story for the game. The Franks have said they've "been having a party coming up with nasty stuff for the game."

"We're extremely excited to be working with Red Mile. We have been Frank Miller / Sin City fans for a long time and are pleased that our technology will be a key factor, and we’re confident that they’re going to make a great game with it,” Said Mark Rein of Epic in a press statement.

The Unreal Engine 3 is getting near ubiquitous for games nowadays and more than one title using it made it into our top games of 2007.

I suppose the main question then is how good do you think the game will end up being? Do you think the Unreal Engine 3 is getting a bit too popular perhaps? Let us know your thoughts in the forums.
