The power regulation problems when overclocking should be fixed, thanks to an 8-phase PWM controller.

ASUS showed us its latest CrossFire ready motherboard at the show yesterday.

The M2R32-MVP Deluxe is ASUS' RD580-based AM2 motherboard. It has a similar layout to the company's M2N32-SLI Deluxe mobo - the memory slots, CPU socket and PWM controllers are in similar locations.

One problem with ASUS' socket 939 RD580 implementation was the poor power regulation when overclocking - at a glance, it looks like ASUS has remedied this problem, as it has incorporated an eight-phase PWM controller.

The positioning of the two PCI-Express x16 interconnects means that it is possible to utlise two of the PCI slots when a pair of Radeon X1900's are installed. This is great news, because both Creative's X-Fi and the AGEIA PhysX PPU still use the PCI inteface.
