It is user submitted :D I just dropped a few in to get us started. I have lots of lovely emails waiting for me already and it only takes a few mins to add them. If we can get the dev time, I'll certainly look at something more automatic, but for now it saves me searching the forum as you say.

Read the article in the first post ( link )- everything is user submitted, they just grabbed a few examples themselves to get the ball rolling.

We need you're help to grow the index, so if you've finished modding your PC, then we'd love to add yours to the Case Mod Index - you can do this by emailing modding@bit-tech.net with'Submit My Mod' in the subject line. You're mod must be complete with noticeable modifications (these can include spray paint/powder-coat or installed water-cooling hardware. You'll also need to include the following information:
  • Forum name
  • Case (make and model)
  • URL to your project log (which must be in bit-tech's project log forum)
  • Whether or not your PC is water-cooled

Edit: ninjas, everywhere...

Only two TJ07 mods? Come on, there is loads more than that. Good idea but wont work if it is implemented in a half arsed way.

This was a brilliant Idea! You can count on me referring people to it ;)

Looking at it already, it's really excellent! Once more is added, this will be so cool! I'll pop it in my bookmarks.

Really?

Looking forward to it and to be the first one with a Zalman mod! Mine has been in a hiatus for months although I'm hoping to get it in motion this year!

Only the scratch/custom builds have to be solved to be top notch with the obvious updates along the way

Fantastic Idea! The project log forum is so massive, it's often difficult to find what you want.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying a cheap unbranded Ebuyer case because it had blue lights. Could be ideal modding material though, if I had some creative ability.

And I really, really tried to resist pointing this out... but I won't be able to sleep without it:
"We need you're help to grow the index" ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Great idea and a great step in the right direction. Once it gets custom/scratchbuild/other categories it'll really be on the right track.
Given how many of the previous 'featured' mods on bit-tech have been scratchbuilds (Orac 3, WMD, L3P Desk, etc) it's kinda crazy that the non-brand category wasn't there from the start! :p

Years ago I used to have fun browsing the oft-ridiculous mods on Metkumods in their user-submitted gallery.
I don't think I'll ever manage to scrub the mental images of all those 'fluffy/furry' mice/keyboards from my memory.

i have emailed in my mod, as its featured in the image on the front page.
However i got an email back with an out of office reply?

Really cant wait to see this thing grow and be a database used by all!

Wasn't the (LEGENDARY) Orac3 mod based on a ClearComputerCase C3? If so, technically it qualifies :D

That was nearly 8 years ago, scary stuff! That mod was a game changer.

Is it not sufficient just to have a "Scratchbuilt" section. To further categorise would be to depreciate I feel as some Scratch builds are simply too unique to be put into any one box

Best way, to capture new builds, would be to just add an optional set of form boxes when you create a new thread in the mod section.

Scratch could be subdivided by the primary material used.

Aluminum
steel
plexi
pvc
mdf
wood
salvage (Alonso Bistro stuff, possibly have a model-style sub category)
carbon fiber
fiberglass
cardboard
CNC
found object, for example toilets and mannequins

Steampunk, laptop, and Pico need a category too.:D

:D I think so too but looks like they are treating them as different now which is good :).

Combatus thanks for including my worklog :D Thumbs up!

Funny something like this should pop up. I was planning on getting a bit more creative for my next build and with some of the examples given, I have drawn some inspiration from them already.

The plan is for a scratch build, some simple mods () and perhaps some water cooling. Something gentle to break me in. I'll post a work log for some constructive feedback and pointers. Then maybe one day, something a bit more exotic!
